Christmas vacation and Orca Bay update

The last two and half weeks I was in Ohio with my in-laws.  We had a wonderful time and the kids enjoyed being part of my husband's family traditions.  We did drive so we had plenty of family time.  It was cold and the girls got to play in a little snow.

Being gone from my sewing room for 2.5 weeks was freaking me out since I just started Orca Bay.  Is that bad?  I told my husband since we are driving I should be able to bring my little sewing machine and some fabric to sew, right?  He rolled his eye and said of course honey.  (Notice there are not quotes around that.) I just knew from past times staying at the in-laws that I would be up most of the night and be able to sew when no one is around.

That is what I did!  I was able to finish steps 1 and 3.  Then I started step 4 and I am half way through with that step.  I took the below pictures with my phone camera so they are not staged however I will live with it.

Step 1 of Orca Bay.  I have a lot of other colors I don't know why I only took one picture.

Step 3 of Orca Bay

Can I say I am finished with a step when they are not trimmed? Well I am going to. I just try to fool myself.

I was also able to create a pillow for my mother-in-law's newly covered chair.

I have several other posts in mind for the new year so check back please.
